Citroën DS 21/23
Icon of French automotive design

The Citroën DS 21 and DS 23 occupy a unique place in automotive history. True aesthetic and technical revolutions upon their introduction, they embody a vision of automotive design that is bold, elegant, and timeless. This photographic series is dedicated to them, using an approach that blends classic car photography with contemporary visual creation.

The images presented alternate between classic photographs of vintage Citroën DS 21 and DS 23 models and more interpretive compositions. Some photographs are reworked using clipping and compositing techniques in Photoshop, then integrated into graphic or visual backgrounds specially designed for the series. This work allows the DS to be detached from its purely historical context and placed within a more conceptual and aesthetic universe.

The focus is on the fluid lines, the volumes, the iconic suspension, and the bodywork details that have made the DS an icon of French automotive heritage . Color, contrasts, and materials play a central role in the interpretation of the images, reinforcing the sculptural dimension of this exceptional car.

This automotive photography series is part of a broader reflection on the industrial object and its capacity to transcend time. The Citroën DS is approached as a design work in its own right, at the crossroads of artistic photography, collective memory, and visual history.

Some images from this series are offered as photographic prints , designed as standalone pieces, intended for exhibition or collection.
