Introducing the Volkswagen Beetle photo series

The Volkswagen Beetle is much more than just a classic car. A popular icon and instantly recognizable design object, it transcends eras while retaining a strong emotional and visual appeal. This photographic series is entirely dedicated to it, in an approach that blends classic automotive photography with contemporary digital creation .

The images presented here alternate between traditional photographs of classic Volkswagen Beetles and more free-form compositions created through image clipping and photomontage. The cars are sometimes isolated from their original surroundings and placed within personal or AI-generated backgrounds, then reworked in Photoshop. This process allows the Beetle to transcend a purely documentary context and be situated within a more graphic and narrative visual universe.

Particular attention is paid to color rendering, contrasts, and textures. Color becomes a tool for interpretation: it accentuates lines, highlights volumes, and reinforces the timeless character of this iconic car. Each image seeks to offer a different interpretation of the Beetle, somewhere between nostalgia, design, and contemporary reinterpretation.

This automotive photography series is part of my broader work exploring objects, visual memory, and the subversion of images. The Volkswagen Beetle is approached as both a cultural symbol and an aesthetic form, at the crossroads of vintage car photography and artistic photography.

Some photographs from this series are offered as prints, conceived as autonomous works, intended to be exhibited or collected.
